Oviedo has been such a great experience so far. I has been crazy to think that I have only been here for 5 days! It feels so much longer than that. Maybe that's because I have already done so many things. Before I left for this trip, lots of people gave me the advice to take advantage of every opportunity in order to really experience the culture. The motto of the trip has kind of become, "see all the things, do all the things, buy all the things." Of course, we don't mean literally EVERYTHING (don't worry Mom I'm not going to start smoking). And I didn't bring nearly enough money to buy all the things (hint, hint Mom). But really, we have done a lot. So this post is going to be a quick summary of all of the things, with some pictures:
1. I settled in to my room. It's very small, but I also have a study room, which is a big plus.

2. Sightseeing/walking around/getting lost. Oviedo is already becoming familiar. If we get lost, usually we know at least the direction we need to go in.
3. Eating good food and relaxing. (I love chocolate con churros and café con leche.)
4. Seeing old buildings. We saw some churches that were build around 848!
5. Hiking. (Yes, Dad, I went hiking on my own free will.) We went to the top of a mountain that has a statue similar to the one in Rio de Janeiro. Usually you can see all of Oviedo from there, but it was very foggy.
6. Making friends. I love getting to know all of the other people on our group. I'm excited to get to know them better in the next 4 months!
So anyway, that's just a few of the things we have done. I know there will be many more in the future, but this is a quick update. Also a couple more things: If you want to see more pictures, I put some up in the Gallery. The pictures are from Ávila and Oviedo. The second thing is that I changed the pictures on top of the pages, with the exception of the Gallery. These are my own photos of Oviedo, finally. So yeah. I think that's it. I miss everyone back home but I'm having a lot of fun so don't miss me too much :). If anyone wants to Skype let me know!
